CCTV

Highest Standards

Clear Sound Security CCTV Systems use the Home Office Development Branch recommendations to identify the requirements of a CCTV installation using five main categories:

Monitor

A figure should typically occupy a minimum of 80 mm per pixel. An observer should be able to monitor the number, direction and speed of movement of people across a wide area.

Detect

A figure should typically occupy a minimum of 40 mm per pixel. When alerted, an observer should be able to search the display screens and ascertain whether a person is present or not.

Observe

A figure should typically occupy a minimum of 16 mm per pixel. An observer should be able to see some characteristic details of the individual, such as distinctive clothing, whilst the view remains sufficiently wide enough to allow activity surrounding an incident to be monitored.

Recognise

A figure should typically occupy a minimum of 8 mm per pixel. At this level of detail, an observer should be able to say with a high degree of confidence whether or not an individual shown is the same as someone they have seen before.

Identify

A figure should typically occupy a minimum of 4 mm per pixel. Picture quality and detail should be sufficient to enable the identity of an individual to be established beyond reasonable doubt.

These guidelines, are always carefully considered by our CCTV Systems specialists when designing your CCTV installation, not only to ensure the customer fully understands what images will be achieved with each security camera, but also, along with the correct signage, to ensure full compliance with current regulations.

Your attention is drawn to the general data protection regulation (GDPR), BS7958, and the information commissioner’s office cctv code of practice. By law the customer may be responsible for registering your system with the information commissioners office. The ICO’s “Data Protection Act legal Guidance” is available on the ICO website: www.ico.org.uk

CCTV Coventry FAQs

We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about our CCTV installation services in Coventry below:

How much does it cost for CCTV?

The cost of a CCTV system varies depending on various factors, including the number of cameras, the type of cameras, the complexity of installation, and whether you need additional services such as remote viewing or cloud storage. Generally, a home CCTV system installation starts from around £300. However, we recommend you contact us directly at Clear Sound Security for an accurate quote. As expert CCTV installers Coventry, we can provide a competitive quote for your CCTV camera systems.

Do I need council permission for CCTV?

Generally, you do not need council permission to install CCTV cameras on your own property as long as the cameras are less than 75cm x 25cm x 25cm in size and are positioned more than 2.5m from the ground. However, checking with your local council or a professional installer is always a good idea to ensure you comply with all relevant regulations and privacy laws.

Is CCTV at home worth it?

Absolutely! Installing CCTV at home provides an extra layer of security and peace of mind. It can deter potential intruders, provide valuable evidence in case of a security breach, and may even lower your home insurance premiums. Moreover, with technological advancements, home CCTV systems have become more affordable and easier to operate, offering features like remote viewing on your smartphone. At Clear Sound Security, we provide a range of security systems suitable for every home and budget.

Can anyone view CCTV footage?

Access to CCTV footage is generally restricted to the property owner and authorised personnel, such as security staff or police. This is to protect the privacy rights of individuals who may be recorded. Additionally, any footage recorded is usually stored securely and is subject to data protection laws.
